Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday Gatherings
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a forty-day period of preparation for the Great Feast of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, we will kneel before the Lord, confess our sins, and believe the Gospel that through Jesus’ death and resurrection God forgives all those who repent.

Wednesday, February 22
5:30 - 6:30pm, Confession and Healing Prayer
7pm, Ash Wednesday Service
Bureau Gravity, 56 S. Lasalle

Prayer or Confession
Individual prayer or confession will be offered before the service. The Bible tells us to confess our sins to one another and pray, that we may be healed. Praying together or confessing to a pastor or another believer is one way we both follow this teaching and experience the grace of God’s forgiveness healing us.

In addition, there are Ash Wednesday services (7am & 12pm) and times of confession (8:30am, 1:30pm) available at our sending church, Church of the Resurrection in Wheaton. Details here.

Ash Wednesday Scriptures & Prayers

Pray through the Liturgy and Scripture passages from the Ash Wednesday service and the Great Litany this Lent as we find refuge in Jesus and his church.
